About Notts Swap Shop
Multi-Coloured Swap Shop, or just simply Swap Shop as it was more commonly known was a British Children’s entertaining programme; one of the original Saturday morning shows during the late 70’s and early 80’s.
The concept was pretty simple; one person needed something and would offer up an exchange, hence the name Swap Shop.
Over 40 years later, modernised for the 21st Century, the Notts Swap Shop has been created. Originally launched in Derby the community quickly pulled together to create the online Swap Shop led by Rachel of the award-winning, bid writing consultancy service that is Ask the Chameleon, founder, owner and CEO of the internally recognised sports apparel brand HUUB and creative and digital marketing agency think3.
Notts Swap Shop is championed by Ruth Hawley, lead for Business & IP Centre Nottingham, a partnership between Nottingham City Libraries and the British Library supporting start-ups and growth. Ruth is joined by Jules Sebelin from Nottingham CVS, who has been working with enterprising community organisations and social enterprises across the east midlands since her arrival in the UK nearly 20 years ago.
Notts Swap Shop is pretty simple. An individual, business or charity from across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire is looking for something. In return they will provide a swap offering services or goods in return.
The key is finding the right match. There will be someone across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire who can swap with you, opening up endless possibilities of networking, making new connections and joining in with the brilliant community spirit of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Not sure if you match exactly, then why not make them an offer?
Simply create your account, post your swaps and wait for someone to contact you.
